A truly great discovery for camping in NB!

I'm from Bathurst, and I have to say that we don't always have it easy weather-wise. Between the wind coming in off the coast and the rain falling without warning, you need equipment that can handle the weather. Well, I can tell you one thing: the Hans Sovereignty tent is very well suited to the reality of New Brunswick.

I put this together all by myself in less than 10 minutes, easy-easy. The thing inflates with a hand pump, and once installed, it doesn't move, even in the late April gusts. The canvas isn't just thick, it smells of quality. This isn't cheap stuff from a big box store. This is stock designed for here, and it shows.

What I really found brilliant is that it comes with a carbon monoxide detector already included. There are even several attachment points built into the tent to secure it properly... it's not an afterthought, it's clearly thought out from the start. I did the test as recommended, and everything worked perfectly. It's reassuring, especially when you want to heat it with wood.

We slept in it one weekend in late April, with pouring rain all night… not a drop of water inside. I was really impressed by the seams, the zippers, and the space. There's plenty of room. You don't feel cramped like in a standard tent.

And my cousin who camped with me freaked out too. He told me he's seriously looking into buying one and turning it into a small income-generating unit, like for four-season glamping on his land. I understand. It's beautiful, it's solid, and it's eye-catching.

But, beyond all that, what made me choose this tent is that it's a Canadian company, and you can feel it. The name, the nod to Hans Island... it's like the tent has a soul.

In short, I'm proud to have supported a local business, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to camp without worrying about equipment.

An impressive tent even in winter!

I completely fell in love with the Hans Sovereignty. It's sturdy, well-designed, and holds heat incredibly well even in the middle of February, deep in the woods! We tested it during a glamping weekend in Algonquin Park, and honestly, it felt like a little slice of paradise.

The only downside is the weight. At 5-foot-4, it's a bit tough for me to haul on my own, especially through the snow. Fortunately, my partner was there to lend a hand.

Pro tip: if you're setting it up in the winter or need to carry it a fair distance into the woods, bring a small plastic sled (like a hunting toboggan). It makes things way easier than trying to lug everything by hand!

All in all, it's a luxury tent that's worth every penny. Like a royal camp in the great outdoors.

Is the tent made in Canada?

The Hans Sovereignty tent is designed in Canada and benefits from final integration, quality inspection, and the addition of certain elements made in Canada. The main manufacturing of the components is carried out in China, in partnership with manufacturers specializing in the production of high-quality outdoor tents.

This decision is part of responsible cost management, in order to maintain an affordable price for our customers.

No compromise has been made on the quality of materials, with each component carefully selected for its robustness and suitability for Canadian conditions.

Wanting to offer a high-quality, durable and reliable product, we opted for this hybrid structure, combining Canadian design, international manufacturing expertise and quality control carried out in Canada.

However, in the long term, our goal is to repatriate the complete manufacturing of our tents to Canada. However, as a young company, we face two realities:

1. The Canadian textile market adapted to the requirements of Nordic tents is still extremely underdeveloped.
2. We do not yet have sufficient purchasing volumes to obtain competitive local production costs.

So, we are focusing our efforts on optimizing our logistics and volumes to make this project feasible without compromising the quality or accessibility of our products for our customers.

In summary (currently):
🍁 Design: Canada
🍁 Partial assembly: Canada
🍁 Final inspection: Canada
🍁 Main manufacturing: China
